JS1200CAL -
LEFTY!!!!! Ibanez finally produces a real Japanese JS in a left hand version.
These will be Limited to this run, so even if you have to stretch to make this
purchase I would advise you do it. I would not expect them to ever make these
again. Everything will be exactly the same as the right hand 1200 [except
obviously being left handed], same case, same package, but at a premium of
course. Listing at $2799.99. I was trying to get a total worldwide production
number but all they will release is the US importation number, 25 pieces into
Hoshino USA.. Sold out in the US.

NOTICE - For some time now I've
noticed what I term "contour blems" on the 1200's, and more recently
1000's, which so far I've either
rejected, or when noticed too late, put them up on my USED page as discounted.
Recently, there have been more with some small contour blem than without. Out
of the last 4 guitars in, 3 of them had small discernable contour blems, and
the 4th had a neck joint crack [returned]. They have become prevalent enough
that if I return every 1200 with a small contour blem I'll never have any to
sell. As the situation has shifted to "normal and expected" I will no longer
be returning them, except in cases of major contour blems [which would be at
my determination] and no longer discounting them.
After a meeting with HUSA on this
subject where I took several examples in to illustrate the problem, it was
disclosed that these contours are finished by hand sanding on a drum sander.
Correcting this has become a top priority and recent incoming guitars have
been getting better, although I'm not positive the problem is completely
solved. When it is I will remove this notice.
What is a contour blem? The curves
of the upper and lower bouts should be very smooth and even. A contour blem is
anything that is not perfectly smooth, curved, and even in either the lower or
upper bout curves. These you will notice as the light glares off the very edge
of the curve showing you a slight distortion in the line. Most people never
see them, even on the ones I have sold discounted and fully described on my
USED page. For whatever reason I do not find these on 1000's but only on
1200's, though it should be no surprise they are different as the neck pockets
between the 2 are also a little different, even though I am told it's the same
program used for both, obviously this is not the case.
THE LAST 2 CAL'S I HAD IN STOCK
BOTH HAD TERRIBLE CONTOUR BLEMS, VERY FEW THAT CAME IN HAD NICE CONTOURS WITHOUT
ISSUES. I LISTED THEM AT DISCOUNTED RATES ON MY USED PAGE
HERE
BUT EVENTUALLY RETURNED THEM. The top edge of the guitar looks orange in
the shots because of the light shining down on it. Rest assured the guitar is
pure Candy Apple.

Righty shown just because the color came out so well in
these shots.
