UV77REMC - The 20th Anniversary Universe.
It had been 10 years since Ibanez last contracted Darren Johansen to work his magic. Far far too long to deprive the world of these beautiful guitars. Ibanez should do a small run of these every year with a constantly changing palette, but, I'm glad they don't. I can't afford them any more than many of the rest of you, since, I can't keep just one! ;o} Let's just hope it doesn't take Ibanez another 10 years to realize they've got a winning combination and a very willing audience for it.
For those of you that have had the chance to see a new swirl in person, you understand. For the rest of you, there is nothing these pictures will show you but color and pattern. The are flat 2 dimensional representations that can't even come close to capturing the true personality of each guitar. I had a specific order I followed when each guitar came in. After it was unpacked [which was no easy task, these were the best packed guitars Hoshino USA has ever shipped!!!] I would turn on my halogen, twist both case latches open, close my eyes, lift the top of the case, and then open my eyes!! WOW!! You have no idea how much fun that is!! Hopefully some of you have gotten to feel that also, for the rest, these pictures will just have to do for now. Enjoy.

There are no edition numbers for UVRE's. Everybody believes they have #1 or #5 because of the way the Sugi uses serial numbers. The FIRST UV77RE was I09501. - I September - 09 - year - 5 - Model - 01 production number of that model for that month. ie. I09502 would be the second built. If you have J***** you'd have to have Sugi's records to know how many were built in September to know which yours is, and so forth. The number does not matter, only the swirl.
