I have no problem buying from Rich "sight unseen". Descriptions are so accurate and the World Famous Setup is just that. I have purchased several from Rich and every one of them, new and used, was and is incredible! I have no reason to buy anywhere else. Thanx, Rich!! :-)

I live in the UK and have just taken delivery of a Jem from Rich. I was pointed in his direction by the guys at www.jemsite.com as an alternative to purchasing the guitar in the UK. I am extremely impressed with the service Rich offers. His prices are unbeatable (I saved more than £500, even after you add UK customs charges), and the set-up of the guitar is spot on. I would strongly recommend that anyone buying a Jem drop Rich a line. If you're worried about the international delivery, don't be. The packaging was bomb proof :)

When I started collecting, I was very skeptical of buying new or used gear online. Let's face it - noone would go over a guitar more thoroughly than yourself and in-person, right? WRONG! Rich Harris is by far the most meticulous and thorough guitar dealer I know. The guy is simply unmatched in his appraising skill and his set-up is 100% the best - by far the finest I've seen. I've bought many of the Ibanez guitars I own from Rich - some new, some used - tens of thousands of dollars in transactions and I've never met the guy! Rich is absolutely rock solid - have no fear of dealing with him folks! - Chris Lange

Mr. Harris is a true *resource* for knowledge, advice, and business ethics. I'll never be able to afford anything here (kind of like that Benz I saw earlier today), but I like to come and look and "window shop". I'm also glad Mr. Harris isn't a "puppet" for Ibanez, and is honest and forward about Hoshino products that come up short. You can also find him at www.jemsite.com . -- TX Dave ---- (shreds cheese like no other)

I've bought 3 guitars from Rich without EVER a problem. This is your ONE SOURCE for Ibanez guitars. Don't worry, he's the man. Your guitar will get his 'seal of approval' before you get it. If he lived by me, I'd have him setup all my guitars. One hell of a good guy too, and generous supporter of Jemfest. Gabe Jemfest http://www.jemfest.com

I've said it before. There isn't a dealer out there that can compare. Rich goes far and above customer service. My 2 guitar purchases from him were beyond belief. I go to him first for parts and will go to him again when I can afford the RGT-3120-TP. Why others don't do what Rich does is beyond me.

This guy is unbelievable! You will probably never deal with a more honest, upfront person than Rich Harris. He will treat you with respect and will treat the instrument you buy from him like it's his own. Rich knows Ibanez guitars and he knows guitar players. Your guitar will be babied. It will be EXACTLY (or better) than described and it will be setup perfectly. Rich takes the time to do it right and goes far above what you would expect. He is a person of the highest integrity and professionalism. M. Schue Rochester, NY

Today I received my JS1000BTB, and it is perfect!! Rich shipped it out very quickly, and it arrived in fine shape. Not only is it a beautiful guitar at a LOW price, but it came with Rich's patented A++++ set-up. The guitar was playing excellently right out of the case--I felt like a big-shot with his own guitar tech. Rich is a true professional, and although I had never met or spoken to Rich, except via e-mail, I had no concerns or misgivings about sending him the cash before I received the guitar, I'm not kidding (and I've been burnt before on eBay, so I'm not naive). You can TRUST Rich, because he has something that is increasingly rare in this world: HONESTY. Rich is also great with communication, and he will answer all your questions. If I purchase any other Ibanez's, I will purchase them from Rich--no contest. I can't say enough nice things about him (anything else will have to come from his girlfriend). Thanks Rich!! :)

I sent a cheque to rich and in less than 2 weeks i had the js. (it took longer for the cheque to get to him!) The packaging was almost bomb proof, the guitar is just amazing, ready to play straight out of the case! Thanks Rich Stefan Kennedy stefken147@hotmail.com

I am so glad that I came across this site. I was slightly uneducated about some matters, and Rich was always fast and friendly with correspondence regarding any questions I had. I later found on jemsite.com that I could have saved Rich some time by working a little harder to come up with some of the answers to my questions, but nonetheless he was incredibly helpful and I think patient as well. I ended up purchasing one of the JS1000 BTB's from Rich, and I had no apprehension whatsoever because of his feedback, his sponsorship of jemsite (along with many references to his expertise, as posted by many people on jemsite), and his helpful and professional correspondence only furthered my trust for a smooth transaction. My guitar arrived quickly and was more than I could have hoped for. Beautiful guitar in absolute perfect condition, killer setup, all the papers, allen wrench set. You couldn't get this great of service from your local Ibanez retailer. My local guys didn't even know a fraction of what Rich did about my inquiries. I guess that's what you get when you are fortunate enough to come across someone who is so passionate and dedicated to his work/hobby. When the time comes for me to look for my next Ibanez, Rich will be getting the call. That's a no-brainer. Thanks for everything. You're a great resource and a damn nice guy too. Neil - Oregon, USA

He shipped my Jem to me less than 24 hours after he got my check, and it arrived here well packed/taped, and in perfect condition. The setup he does is AWESOME, as said by many of his customers. I am overjoyed His price / service / setup were unmatched. There are not enough good things to say about this guy and the way he treats you as a customer. Completely frustrated with the price of guitars (and especially the better kind) in Holland, I decided to try a different approach. From the Jem-site I was pointed in tot the direction of Rich Harris and worked out a pretty good deal. It’s a leap of faith cause usually one would like to sit down and play the object of your desire for a day or two. But now it will fly in without you ever having fingered a note, so to speak! But Rich is a true gentleman and patiently answered all my questions (even in middle of the night, does this guy sleep at all?!) When it arrived (after customs held it ransom for a week!) it was still in perfect tune. No worries about the packaging! And after all customs fees and taxes where paid, the deal was still very sweet. Rich, thanks again for the superb service! Till the next one my friend. Nick Waterdrinker, g.voeten@multiweb.nl

Hi, i was really interested by your web site, as i am looking for informations about my bass sr590 which is an old serie. However, amazingly among the tons of archives you published i couldn't find a photo of this bass guitar !! Indeed, despite the sr590 is there between 1993 and 1996 (if i remember well) the specification are always mismatching. Mine was built in Korea, so maybe I should look through Korean catalog ?... You can email me at dsentenac@interfree.it if you have any info. Great site ! Daniel

Desiring a JS1000 model for a while I happened upon Rich's site, thank god. I already had one Ibanez lower cost model and wanted an upgrade. I researched all the JS's and found the BTB model. Even with it being a signature model the factory work isn't always absolute perfection. This is where Rich excels to me and is unparalled in the industry. Within a few hours of my call I was at Rich's house talking guitar speak with him. To be honest, Ibanez is extremely lucky to have someone as good and meticulous as Rich promoting their instruments. I just want to say thanks for having such an informative site. I have learned more about Ibanez guitars from your site than anywhere else. Maybe one day if I win the lottery I'll be able to buy a jem off of you. Either a swirrel, or a floral, or that gorgeous aniversary model, in the gallery. Maybe all three. I ordered a new S1620 through a local small shop because they give me a great financing deal. If you do the same then maybe I could get one of those higher end models from you after all. But either way. Keep up the great work. And thanks again. Gabe in Albemarle NC Gabe_Dimeglio@hotmail.com

I almost posted a question. Good I read the words in blue. Your tech page is very helpful, I actually followed the procedure to grind and sharpen the edge of my bridge (js100 lo trem 2). I got excellent results. superbly improved tuning. I have one little suggestion / request. On the 2003 models subheading "TREMS" I do not follow the terms anchor and stud, and some other stuff. A labelled diagram would help to understand the difference between the edge and the edge pro design and the thing that ibanez followed for 15 years and apparently do not do that anymore. A change in some design or something. Thanks. Omar Asghar

Rich is absolutely the most thrustworthy person there is on the net, and he has gone through the infinite questions and change-of-minds i presented him with. Also, i'm one of those 'tyre kickers' always lurking around the site. I have forwarded many friends to his site and services and they have all been satisfied. The best customer service ever. It would be wise to take note that I'm talking about Maltese customers, from the tiny island of Malta in Europe, so if he's this good for us, he's the best!

I have never bought from Rich. I am willing too. I just need money. Maybe, in the next 2 months I will have like 5000$. Wait for me Rich. I will buy every dream guitar I want. I just have a JPM100 P1 and a JS1000BTB and other guitars(not ibanez) that suck. Ibanez is the perfect guitar manufacturer for me! I am so jealous of ppl that have so much gear!! Wait for me Rich!!!!

My advice: Only buy Ibanez from Rich Harris!! After playing a dozen or so different jems at guitar center that were never set up correctly and just basically neglected and they still want full retail price. I bought a jem vwh from Rich and I could not be happier. The thing shipped clear across the country (ny to ca) and was in tune and set up perfectly. I'm thinking of quiting my job to spend more time with the guitar! Rich Harris is a God. Thanks Rich! Sincerely, Robert O'Leary

I ordered a RG1077XLRB from a music store in Halifax back in August. The thing was discontinued before it arrived. I tried to find one on Canada, unsuccessfully. Then I found Ibanez Rules. Rich is a pretty good guy. The first sign was that a guy had told him to hold the guitar for a couple of weeks, so it might not be available. Rich was pretty damned laid back when I called him, wich has its benifits and its drawbacks. He doesnt accept credit #s from Canada, wich kind of sucks, but he sent me some pics of the guitar. I havent got the thing yet, but Im pretty sure I will. This sure beats waiting for six months to get the worlds best guitar from Japan.

I pre-ordered a Jem7VWH from Rich about 2 months ago. Rich was very patient as my impatience grew waiting for it to arrive. When it arrived it was setup as near perfect as could be and Rich had installed the gold knobs that I had ordered to go with it. I'm sold on Rich! Maybe someday he will carry the PM120 :-) "blunote", Castleton, VT

Rich Harris - Ibanez Rules!!

I have a firm policy of never editing anything on this page. A feedback page can only be "true" if it includes the good as well as any bad feedback. But, it takes a special kind of jerk to go into somebody's site and recommend they shop elsewhere because of "exorbitant prices". Let's set this record straight.

I just called Bill over at WMC to get a "best price" quote on a JEM7VWH in a UV1000 case.

WMC - $1610 plus shipping!
Ibanez Rules!! - $1575 plus shipping! [with my new flat rate US shipping policy that's $1605]

[in all fairness WMC would probably take a credit card for that price, I will not and the 3% charge-out fees will be included in the final price]

Now I have nothing against WMC, they're a good and reliable outfit. I have purchased guitars from them myself. In 2000' I purchased **Nine** Y2K models [VAI2KDNA's and JS2KPLT's], over $30,000 worth of guitars in one deal. Here is exactly what I got, and exactly what you will get too. A guitar that hasn't been out of the case since it left the distributor. Nobody inspected them, surely nobody even though about doing a setup on them, they were all still tape sealed as they had left the distributor. This is on a guitar that Lists at $5000 so what treatment do you think your $2400 List guitar will receive? What about an $850 guitar?

What do you get when you buy from Ibanez Rules? The most comprehensive setup your guitar will get in it's entire lifetime, from somebody that specializes in knowing all the ticks of an Ibanez guitar. In addition you get non stop customer support after the sale, especially useful to those that are new to locking trem guitars. An online resource section that includes everything from in depth technical setup issues to full catalog scans as a resource library. All of that is free for anyone to use no matter where you purchased your guitar. And of course you get all of that for $35 LESS than WMC's best price phone quote! This applies to a $5000 guitar or $500 guitar, price does not compromise the attention it will receive. And when I say "specialized" I mean it. Ask anybody at WMC if you can get a 2LE2B locking stud upgrade to replace the factory's current downgrade to non locking studs. [Make sure you listen hard as they scratch their heads in confusion] Then ask if they'll re-radius the bridge due to Gotoh's problem with getting the saddle inserts pressed to seat on the new Edge Pro saddles [listen for more scratching, by now you should be able to hear the dandruff collecting on the counter]. You could also ask that if something breaks on your guitar if they stock all the parts that could be needed to quickly correct the situation [he's not scratching his head anymore, he knows the answer to that question is "No"]

Bottom line, it's your hard earned money. If you're a pro tech, shop anywhere you want for the cheapest price and do all the work yourself. If you want to receive an instrument that's ready to go right out of the case then your options start to narrow immensely. Personally, I know of no other dealers in the US that do what I do. Some may do a basic setup, but you are guaranteed to be paying for it one way or another. If my money was on the line there's only one place I'd buy a new Ibanez guitar, and that would be from me.

Note to any other jerks that would like to advertise for their favorite dealer - go find a bulletin board somewhere and have at it, just please have enough respect to not post it here. To everyone else, sorry for the rant. Thanks, Rich

Rich is one of the most knowledgable guys on the face of the earth regarding high end Ibanez guitars. His customer service from prompt returning of emails to ability to explain things is truly amazing. I have never played a nicer feeling, smoother in tune trem in my life than on me Jem 7DBK that he set up. If you are reading this and trying to decide whether or not to get a guitar from him ... wait no further and order that axe. It will play better than you can possibly imagine.

I DO NOT KNOW IF YOU REMEMBER ME, BUT A WHILE BACK I STIRRED UP SOME UNCALLED FOR B.S. OVER ON THE JEMSITE. IT WAS NOT MY INTENTION AND WANTED YOU TO KNOW THIS. I HAD MY OPINIONS AS WE ALL DID AT THAT TIME. I HAD ENJOYED BOTH SITES AS I AM AN INTENSE COLLECTOR AND IBANEZ LOVER...JUST THOUGHT IT WAS ABOUT TIME TO LET YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE APPRECIATED...ALTHOUGH THIS PROBABLY DIDN'T NEED TO BE SAID, AS ALL WHO COME HERE SEE YOUR RECORD... I come to buying a RG 1570 LH one month ago, and i has receive a guitar with a f... set up. No correct tuning ... The Trem with 15° of angle up one time the guitar tuned ... A has setting my guitar with the factory strings : and with a little patience (8 days without locking the strings - Time necessary for each part take place ...) One time this made, i has a good feeling action and a trem that no drop down or up. But i lock the strings like a docker. More negative : the finish of the hardware is bad, one month of use and the trem has already begin to loose his finish. I has an original floyd rose gold finish on another guitar who has been played from 4 years and the finish was exceptional : some little dots of pick on the trem bar. If any of you has experiment the same : Get feedback ! Last, i want set up my guitar with a 10/46 gauge : anyone of you has act ? Thanks for this site.

Please guys, this is not a Forum, or a place to leave comments about your purchases from another dealer, or your complaints that are directed at Ibanez. If you want to do that visit the Forum on Jemsite.com, it is the best Ibanez Forum on the planet. This is a Feedback page for Ibanez Rules!! only. Please keep any comments relative.

This morning, I received a UPS package sent from Rich Harris. the long-awaited Jem2k DNA. The moment I opened the package and examined the content, I was SHOCKED. This was by far the best-condition guitar I've seen. Much better than any so-called new ones I purchased from any retail store in the past. Appearance, scent, everything about this guitar was "brand-new." In addition, the guitar is well-maintained. Thanks to his in-depth knowledge and professionalism. If there is one problem with Rich, it is that he tends to underestimate the true value of his instruments due to rigorous inspection and scrutiny. In other words, if he says it is "excellent," you'd better expect something in almost "brand-new" condition. He will never cease to amaze you. I can't wait to purchase another instrument from this guy. Thanks Rich. You RULE. Izzy from CA

I won't even acknowledge the lame asses who attempted to get free advertising on here at Rich's expense. I can guarantee you there is not a dealer or store around that can match the quality service or godlike set-up of Rich's guitars. And as far as pricing goes???? Rich gives you something no other dealer gives which is custom service for each instrument at NO EXTRA COST!!!! What you see in price is what you pay for after Rich has gone over it meticulously. He doesn't jack up the price as many dealers due for special 'buffing' or 'tuning'. Having seen one of the so called storefront dealers in action I know the buffing consists of nothing more than a quick wipe-down for fingerprints. And the tuning was accomplished with a few tuner adjustments. My guitar purchased from Rich back in February or March still has the same set of strings and is still in tune. I don't recommend not changing strings but Rich's technique of setting up affords you more time than most dealers can hope for. The bottom line is this... You'll get a guitar that's ready to go right out of the box from Rich Harris. Your guitar will be set up in perfect condition. Every piece of that guitar will be inspected by Rich himself and if it's not right he'll make it right. And the price you pay for the guitar is going to be well under what you'd pay for "IF" you could get it set-up properly by a dealer which I know for a fact, you can't!! Even the online 'bargain' retail websites can't touch the infamous "Rich Harris Set-Up" technique. With them (online retalers) you get your guitar in a box uninspected direct from a warehouse or factory, if your lucky. That's it!! No one checks it, whether you paid $100 or $10,000, it doesn't matter, there response is "we just sell them". Rich doesn't just sell guitars, he gives a you something that even studio musicians or artists would be envious of. Top quality service at an extremely reasonable price. For any future spineless weasels who want to advertise, why not let your service and quality speak for itself instead of trying to connect yourself to someone who provides his customers with a lot more than what they pay for? To me it's a cowardly act of free advertising for a service you can't even compete with. If your own customers won't praise you then maybe you should find another business. All I can say about Rich at Ibanez Rules is complete professionalism. From the first day I emailed him with questions, his response time was immediate. I think he sleeps with his laptop...haha! All joking aside, my guitar (RGT3120) is the finest instrument I have ever seen and played in my 19 years of playing guitar. Whomever visits this side and is contimplating on doing business, read my review and all the other reviews of 100% satisfied customers. The service level is second to none. The craftmenship on all of Rich's work is top of the line. Your guitar will get to you in perfect playing condition without a flaw whatsoever. Thanks again Rich. All the best!

Here's a follow-up to my previous feedback. My Ibanez is awesome. I've jammed on it almost daily for over a month now, and have only had to tune it 3 times. And it was a minor tune at that. I just have to say this guy is a real Pro. You have any questions on a guitar you are interested by ? Rich will answer in less than 24 hours. When I say that I reserved the guitar it was on hold for me as stone. He gave me a delay for shipping ,and in spite of difficult conditions for him , the guitar left the USA at the precise date he gave me. When I receive the guitar , it was exactly as the description and the photos I had . No bad surprises ,just the best of a Pro. The more impresionning thing for me is that the guitar arrived at home after a 5000 miles travel ;and after to have transited by terminals and customs.... TOTALY TUNED ! my tuner can't do better ! I have now an immoderate trust in Rich ,and when I will buy another guitar ;I won't have to buy it elsewhere. I trust now Rich much more than any local dealer near my home. For all These reasons , THANKS RICH. And happy New Year at Everybody crossing this site. Franck from France.

I had a few questions for Rich before I put a deposit down on a JEM7V. Rich gave me the "proper" time to discuss what he does and what I will get for the money. He did not try to rush the discussion. He made me feel comfortable and answered all of my questions. He also explained the process about the setup and the needed mods which make a great guitar better. He also responded very quickly through email which was comforting. I put a down-payment down on the guitar. ;) Thanks Rich!

Rich has been ever so helpful with my purchase of an RGT3120TV. I was made fully aware of what was going on and each time I came back with a question he was prompt to respond. He was generous in his advice and made me think twice before rushing into a decision even on the smallest of details. It amazes me that he up till the early hours of the mornin' responding to emails for all his customers. I like to think of him as a friend more than someone I bought a guitar from and I intend to only buy from Rich whenever I decide to get my next Ibanez guitar. 2004 JEM7VWH Arrives.. Well, my new JEM7 arrived this week. Rich did an awesome job on the guitar. The mods, the setup, the care and time spent on the guitar was very evident when i took it our of its case. GREAT JOB RICH! I asked to call Rich due to some "mis-information" on the Ibanez site regarding the bridge and fingerboard. He took my call and explained everything to me. You can tell he really cares about his work and his customers. Satified customer? You bet. I will NEVER buy another Ibanez guitar from anyone else. Got any reservations from buying from Rich? DONT!!!!! He is a class-act. :)

Hi ! My name is Stephan and I just arrived in the States two months ago. Guess the first thing I did with my first payroll check : buying a JEM77FP from Rich online ! And I am not disapointed at all. Although sending over 1700 dollars in cash to a person you don't know before even seing the guitar might sound absurd to you, with Rich you are safe : great and WAY quick customer support, very impressive setup of the guitar. Quality is definitely there. And while shopping for an FP, although his service is far better than any other store, his prices are actually lower (!), at least for the FP I bought ;-) So, thanks again Rich ! And for all you potential customers who hesitate, GO FOR IT ! Nothing to loose, you'll get want you want with second to no one customer support and setup !! I'll be back for another JEM from Rich I guess, but maybe not with my second payroll check though, I have also to buy food ;-))

Buy only limited edition guitars from Rich. There is advantage in that because not many retailers carry limited edition models. For everything else, try any retailers with lowest price guaranteed. If you want a comprehensive checkup and a setup, try your local guitar tech. In the end you'll end up saving more money.

My names Alex and I'm from Australia and was shit scared of buying a guitar from overseas site unseen. I ended up buying an Ibanez Universe from Rich. Best decision I have ever made. The Guy is Online almost 24 7 and answered all my emails almost immediately. I got a brilliant guitar, with a brilliant set up and saved almost a grand by importing it in from the states. Rich is great, he calls a spade a spade and doesn’t f*#k you around. All my guitars will come from this guy.

I recently received a JEM 7VWH from Rich, and I must admit, I was very nervous because I like to hold my guitars before I buy them. But Rich's customer service was phenomenal. He answered all of my e-mails (and I had a lot of them) very promptly and told me everything I wanted to know about what I was buying. When the guitar showed up, the setup was impeccable. Furthermore, Rich wanted to make sure I was happy with my purchase and I'm sure he will be helpful if anything comes up that needs his expertise. If myself or anyone I know is interested in a high-end ibanez guitar, I would recommend purchasing from Rich with a great deal of confidence. Thanks. -Jeff -TX, USA

Rich, Feel free to post this! Received my JEM yesterday, exactly when you said it would arrive. Great condition and still in tune after a trip halfway across the country. The guitar plays great! Love that tremelo system! Thanks for talking with me on the phone and for answering my emails before the purchase. (I was one of those people a little reluctant to give my credit card info out.) Thanks for a great guitar and a nice set-up! I appreciate everything. I am a happy customer and I'll be back. Rock on, dude! Thanks again! Bill (purchased May 2004)

I love your site, even though I have not purchased anything from it yet (haven't needed to). I only have three issues with it: 1) The most important, what with me being a computer geek and all, is the color scheme. I will be the first to admit that the colors look cool as hell. The first problem is that they have a tendency to cause eyestrain if you are reading the site for a bit of time. The second is that the green text on black background makes some font faces indistinct, especially if you have font smoothing enabled. This is especially noticeable with sans-serif fonts such as tahoma and arial.

2) Some of the photos in the tech section have some issues with lighting or exposure, making it difficult to see details correctly. I have a friend who is a pretty good photographer and owes me some favors, along with a USRG30 that I could use for photos. If I can convince him to spend a couple of nights doing it for free, he and I could shoot some new ones if you e-mail me with some details of what shots you need.

3) This one is the least important. This site is excellent. The tech section is quite possibly the best introduction to basic setup and maintenance I have seen on the web. The only thing I think it needs is a bit more attention to non-locking bridge guitars, but that also is a really minor quibble seeing as how Ibanez isn't necessarily known for such, and this is an Ibanez focused website. Other than those three quibbles, I love this site. Keep up the good work. Sean Fraley jemsite id macsen sfraley@rhiannonweb.com

1. Yea, being a consummate computer illiterate, I thought the colors were cool, 5 years ago. Of course now with around 700 htm pages I'm in no hurry to open each and change all the colors around ;)

2. Some of that stuff is pretty damn hard to light, and shoot, using one hand on a Mavica ;) I realize some aren't great and I'll make an attempt to get some replacements up as time allows. Then again, half the sections don't even have any pics in them yet so it's a matter of priorities.

3. And considering how few hardtails I sell there hasn't been that many opportunities to fill in those areas, especially considering building a tech section isn't my "job" and does take alot of time and energy I'm usually running thin on. They will come in time though! Thanks to all for their comments and suggestions! www.ibanezrules.com

I've had a grin on my face ever since getting my JS1200CA. I couldn't be happier with it. I did my homework both locally and on the web, and Rich had the best deal by far. The case alone made it a better deal than anyone else, let alone the detail he gives each guitar. I really feel I got an "instrument" and not a guitar shipped out of a giant warehouse. This is the first guitar I have owned with perfect intonation. I've checked it all over with my tuner and it's dead on. The color is so sweet, Rich and Joe's sight are the only ones that convey the rich color. Rich was lightning fast with email responses to my questions. Ibanez Rules will be my only choice for future Ibanez purchases (would love the Champagne fixed model someday), and tech work. Thanks Rich! T. Zinn

How stupid do you have to be to believe that Ebay sales transactions solely reflect the current market value? When bidding, there are more than necessity and desire involved. Another factor in bidding is a psychological one; to beat the competition. Haven't you heard or watched a special segment on internet bidding addiction on evening news? It is these dumbfucks causing other imbeciles to believe that the current market value has risen. Sucks for me but couldn't be better for you.

I seem to be posting allot of replies on here lately....

How stupid do you have to be to realize public auctions are a WHOLESALE marketplace. with the possibility of getting retail, and very rarely even more. Ever hear of a Buy It Now where many guitars are selling for max $'s with NO competition? I watch guitars sell on ebay far in excess of what I have them priced at, I don't quick open my page and raise the prices, but when a long term trend is noted of course my prices are going to rise. I run a business, not a charity. The Dollar sucks, prices are up everywhere, if you don't like it try hanging out at your local pawn shop for deals. And finally, how stupid do you have to be to realize that a reputable dealer should be selling much higher than any results attained on ebay where anybody paying a 30 cent listing fee can sell their goods. You want unrealistic pricing go talk about Ed Roman, somewhere else.

I LIVE IN PUERTO RICO AND RECENTLY ORDERED A JS1000BP FROM RICH. IT IS IN PERFECT CONDITION, NOT MINT NOT GOOD, TRY GEM MINT OR PRISTINE. PLUS, I DON'T KNOW HOW RICH PUTS UP WITH ME, BECAUSE I MIGHT HAVE SENT HIM ABOUT 100 OR MORE E-MAILS AND HE ALWAYS RESPONDED WITH A GREAT ATTITUDE, AND EVEN HUMOR. I AM A 3RD YEAR MUSIC STUDENT DOING BOTH BACHELOR'S OF MUSIC EDUCATION AND MUSIC PERFORMANCE (CLASSICAL GUITAR), AND THIS IS THE FIRST ELECTRIC OF THIS KIND (EXPENSIVE) I BUY. (YOU COULD IMAGINE HOW WORRIED I WAS) BUT AFTER I SAW RICH'S TREATMENT I KNEW EVERYTHING WOULD BE JUST FINE. RICH, IF I WERE A MILLIONAIRE, I'D BUY YOU EVERY GREAT GUITAR YOU HAVE OUT THERE. AND AS SOON AS I PLAN ON BUYING A NEW ONE, YOU JUST KNOW I'LL BE COMING BACK TO IBANEZ RULES.THANKS A LOT FOR EVERYTHING MAN, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND THE GREAT TREATING OF THE COSTUMER THAT DISTINGUISHES YOU FROM OTHER CORPORATE SELLERS. IT WAS REALLY A GREAT PROCESS. Sincerely, Jan Rivera

You don't prove anything. I never said there's no competition in purchasing musical instruments on ebay or that "public auctions are a wholesale market place." Don't believe me? Look again and again. In fact, there is too much fierce competition, which in turn raises the price. It's not the demand that causes this increase. You seem to support my view in saying that "many guitars are selling for max$(on ebay)." Your citing examples of ebay transactions clearly indicates that your observation of market trend comes from nowhere but ebay. The following is taken from your very website. " Last 10th on ebay brought $3500 WITH chrome wear on the pickups! ;)** $3500** " Your basic argument is "if ebay does it. I'll do it too."

And I've seen JEM10's bring $4750 in Mint - and in the World case [and incidentally the SAME guitar I sold 6 months ago for $3000!!]. Do you see my prices reflecting that?! Guitar Hanger wants and gets $4000 for any 10th they have, Roman's price on a 10th is TWELVE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!! When 10th's are consistently selling at over $3000 that is a trend, and when Chromeboys are consistently bringing over $4000 that is also a trend. If you have a point I must just be too stupid to understand it. Of course I raised my prices to better reflect the current market and noted that on the page. But you seem to want me to sell them cheaper than Joe Schnoe can sell them for on ebay, when I should be charging at least 20% more?!?! I still have to BUY inventory, and nobody is giving it away. The higher prices rise the more *I* have to pay for inventory, the more I have to charge. Perhaps you cut all your Economics 101 classes.

If you knew any better you'd also know the very old rule, "The worth of anything is determined by what it will bring on a good day at auction" [typically a reference to what fine art or highly desirable items would bring at Sotheby's or Christies or any of the myriad of top houses in the world], and a "good day" means the high water mark sold in their best sales, not the "deal" somebody got because no retail buyers were looking or it was "dumped" because the owner needed cash fast, which represents the wholesale/dealers market. Not excluding the fact that many of these "high water mark" prices are actually paid by DEALERS that know their market and know they can make more money in a private sale. ebay is redefining allot of the old rules because it puts the marketplace at the fingertips of a million times more people than traditional auctions have. And if you knew any better, you'd know that half the collectors are complaining that ebay has just killed the value of what they collect by flooding the market, ie. doll collectors [girlfriend] or XYZ collectors, who are lucky to get 25 cents of "book" dollar on ebay.

When Van Gogh's "Sunflowers" brought $40 million I'm sure allot of dejected "wanabe millionaire's" realized they'd never own one. You think for a second dealer's didn't quadruple their prices overnight?!?! Then "Irises" sold for $54 mil a few months later, and less than 3 years later "Dr. Gachet" brought $82.5 million. But guitars are different right? If you don't have enough money to buy in the current market get a better job.

So whatever your point is move it on down the road and make it elsewhere because evidently you just don't get it. This is NOT a Forum. If you want to continue I suggest you take your rant in an already established Jemsite Forum thread on this subject.

http://www.jemsite.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=32310

Finally, if you don't like the prices, *Please shop elsewhere*, also stated on the Used page.

How do I know what company really made my Ibanez since companies other than Ibanez make most of them? Gen Gakki etc. What company makes the Korean garbage Ibanez labeled models? Why do the Korean Floyd tremolos made with some sort of copper showing through? Why can't Ibanez make quality anymore? What do Koreans really make of quality? Are there any Asian products that are non disposable?

I want an Ibanez with a real Floyd, DiMarzio pickups, one or two piece body, no scarf joint, no basswood, paint that doesn't chip and flake, strap buttons that don't fall off, that increase in value over time, that I don't lose money on when I purchase it, that is really made by Ibanez. Oh wait I want something else.

My reason is to edjumicate the Ibanez buyer that what he buys isn't usually Ibanez. It is a subcontracted product. Sort of bastardized product that will never have any lasting value. Like comparing a Kia with a BMW. If you want to go cheap buy Ibanez Korean. Asians always follow they never lead with their products. Mimes they are.

I apologizzzzzzzzzzze not apologise for my flames. I am not worthy. IBeenHad Rules. Satriani actually uses Fenders to record. But Ibanezs are better especially the Chinese ones. The best Satriani models are made in Korea and are of the same quality as the top of the line ones made in Japan. The loose pivot posts only rattle on occasion. I sort of like how the smoked plating rubs off and gives it that cool two-tone look. Very desireable when reselling. HHaw haw

Obviously you can't read because this is not a forum but a place to leave feedback about BUSINESS that has been conducted with Ibanez Rules. Try reading first before you rant.

First, I only deal in Fujigen built Prestige line and above, as well as a few US made LACS and the Masters [which were also subcontracted]. The lower [junk] lines made for Ibanez are to meet a specific price point in a specific market segment, but, you might actually need to know the first thing about business to understand this. If your Ibanez experience is with these non-MIJ crap made who knows where then I stand that you wouldn't know a good guitar if it fell on your head.

Second, MIK is no where near the standard of MIJ and if you're just realizing this then you're far behind the 8 ball.

JS has MANY guitars he uses for tonal effect but his MAIN recording axe is still and has been his main JS2 - Chromeboy. Try doing a little research.

And last, take your rant to the Jemsite Forum where it is widely debated between the virtues of MIJ and the banes of MIK, MIC, MII, and anywhere else they have guitars built. Or, rant anywhere else you feel like, just not here.

Jason I just wanted to say that I think Ibanez makes some of the best guitars on the market, but there's one thing that disappoints me. Why don't they make string thru models for like the rg series and s series? I want a new guitar and I want in to be an Ibanez, but I only play string thru models. Does anyone know how I can email the makers of Ibanez to try and persuade them into making some?

Well, what can I say. I don't really feel that I can add any thing different to what other people have already said - but my parents (whose bank account the money came from after I gave it to them) were very dubious about dealing overseas with someone they have never met - and to be fair, it was a lot of money. So to anyone out there that is anxious about rich's reliability, don't be. He is a top notch bloke and will do any thing in his power to help and reasure you if you have any problems. I asked him no end of annoying qustions, and within a couple of minutes a reply was sitting in my inbox. And the prices here are phenominal. I got a UV777BK (yay!) from here and it cost about £500 less than if I'd bought it in a shop over here, how do you do it Rich? The setup is also top notch. My local quitar shop mainly selss gibsons and fenders and stuff, and has a few guitars with floyd roses or lo pros on them, but they are set up awfully, I mean, i can do the set-up my self, but its so nice to be able to buy a guitar and play it straight a way without pissing about seting up the action and tension and intonation and sutff. Hell, it was even in tune when i took it out of the case for the first time. This guys guitars are as reliable as cheep as a brick. Don;t miss out on this oppertunity - buy your ibanez from Rich Harris!

My local quitar shop mainly sells gibsons and fenders and stuff, and has a few guitars with floyd roses or lo pros on them, but they are set up awfully, I mean, i can do the set-up my self, but its so nice to be able to buy a guitar and play it straight a way without pissing about seting up the action and tension and intonation and sutff. Hell, it was even in tune when i took it out of the case for the first time. This guys guitars are as reliable and as cheep as a brick. Don't miss out on this oppertunity - buy your ibanez from Rich Harris!

Well, what can I say that hasn’t already been said by countless others. But, I might as well say it all over again, because my parents (whose bank account was used to send the money) were very dubious about dealing overseas to someone that had never met for a guitar they had never seen, so this might help other people be more trusting of Rich. He is a top notch bloke, I sent him no end of annoying questions and within a few minutes a reply was sitting in my inbox, he will do everything in his power to help and reassure you. Its not like dealing with a big company this guy cares about his customers, even when I had a small fault after sale that wasn’t actually anything wrong with the guitar, Rich tried to help me, but luckily in the end it was just external interference. The shipping’s great too, if it wasn’t for the FedEx at Stanstead airport being stupid I would have had my guitar EARLIER that Rich’s estimate. Also, the packaging is bombproof, the guitar was even in tune when I first took it out of the case. And the price – wow. With set-up, case and shipping, the guitar cost £500 less than if I bought the guitar alone in a shop over here. For the last year or so I’ve been trying to convince myself that a guitar can be worth £1600, but since I found it for a measly £1100 inc. shipping, tax, case, set-up etc etc it was a lot easier to part with the money. And the set-up, that’s another thing. My local guitar shop mainly sells Gibsons and Fenders and stuff, but they do sell a few guitars with Floyd Rose style trems but they are set-up awfully – the action is enormous, the tension is wrong, the intonation is out etc etc, I mean, I can do all that stuff my self, but it would be nice to be able to play a guitar as soon as you buy it, and when buying from Rich, you can! Everything was perfect, and the tension in the bridge is exactly how I like it, and it normally takes me ages to get it like that. Thanks Rich! But any way, this guy’s guitars are as reliable and as cheap as brick. You can’t go wrong with this guy. Buy your Ibanez HERE!! NOW!! Rich Love the site - very droolsome! I am a player of a 570FM I bought new back in '93, its a real honey, but I feel it needs a nice battered old JEM to keep it company! Trouble is they are very expensive in the UK, but I'll keep an eye on your site, anything so long as it ain't pink (banned from my house)!! Cheers and keep up the good work. R www.goatblower.com

I just bought my second guitar from Rich and I couldn't be more pleased. It's always refreshing to deal with a true professional who seriously cares about his product. If you are considering buying a high-end Ibanez model, look no further than this site. Rich puts any "Superstore" to shame and his prices are unbeatable considering the unparalleled service he supplies. Since Ibanez will always be my main squeeze, Rich will always be my man, no matter what part of the world I may end up in. Thanks Rich! John McGrody-jesus_tree@hotmail.com

Hi all! When I began to search where to buy a Jem, I found a reference to this site at www.jemsite.com. After surfing the site, I decided to email Rich to ask him for a JEM7DBK. I'm from Spain, and this was going to be the first time I bought something through the Internet, so I was a little scared, because it was an expensive guitar. But from the first time, Rich gave me a lot confidence, telling me all the details I needed any time I emailed him. So I bought the guitar, and I received it after a week, perfectly adjusted, in tune... I'm really satisfied with the service, and if I would want to buy another axe from Ibanez, this would be the first place where I will look for it. Happy new year, Rich!

Hi I have just received delivery of my absolutely immaculate Crystal Planet guitar. What can one say about this guy! The set up on the guitar was first class. I would say that the work Rich puts in to the preparation is fantastic and would put any so called guitar store to shame. I live in England so I was a little concerned about sending so much money! but everything went like clock work. Rich is a great communicator and answered every email (and I sent an awful lot!!)The packaging was excellent and 3 days from receipt of money to delivery was amazing. I would recommend this site to anybody. I would certainly buy from this guy again, no hesitation. Thank you once again Rich. Mike in England

I came across ibanezrules.com in July '04 while researching JEM guitars for a future purchase. When I'd read the setup Rich does to instruments before shipping, I was truly impressed. No online retailer or brick store would do all that, even for extra money. Couple this with the prices these other retailers post for GUITAR ONLY, no case, I was that much more inclined to deal with Rich and ibanezrules.com. Rich may charge a little more than the others, but what you get for the money is truly exceptional. Though I had misgivings about sending money to a complete unknown stranger, these were waylaid when I actually spoke to Rich on the phone. He was very personable, full of information, and helpful as could be. I didn't hesitate to send him the money, and his use of UPS over Fedex was the clincher. Exactly one week after I'd mailed the payment, I had a brand new '04 JEM7VWH sitting in my living room, waiting to be opened and played. And play I did! For all those looking to purchase a JEM, or any of Rich's other guitars, by all means do so, you won't regret it.

For those Spanish guys who are looking to buy an Ibanez guitar, believe me, this is the place. (Rich, your first feedback in Spanish). THANKS RICH!!!, as i told you before, you've got a friend in Spain Ivan

My apologies. My name is Ian. I sent you several emails regarding guitars that you blew off, so I bought a Jem elsewhere, for about $800 cheaper I might add. You might remember one of my emails. It said "Sir, your impeccable reputation makes me want to buy a guitar from you." Then I posted on Jemsite, regarding a possible defect in the instrument I purchased, where 7000 elitist members saw my low post count and decided they'd rather screw with me than address my issue, because I posted it in the jem forum rather than the tech forum. Who knew you weren't supposed to post about Jem7vwh guitars in the "Jem and Universe Guitar Forum"? What nonsense. You can view the threads here - http://www.jemsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34753 and here - http://www.jemsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34757 You posted on one of them yourself. Some nonsense about tracking mud through someones house. "Any questions can be posted in the Jemsite Forum where 7000 members can help you." Obviously! So let me reiterate Rich, from Ian, Rahab on Jemsite. You're a dick, Rich. Have a nice day.

Oh, the guy that acted like a jack ass with an attitude because a Moderator closed the threads he started in the wrong Forum, obviously because he couldn't take the time to read the RULES before posting. All I told you [in response to "How SHOULD I react sir?"] was "Like a newcomer in somebody else's house? Don't track mud on the carpet." which is ALL I said to you. *I* didn't close your fucking threads jack ass!! A moderator did!! But *I'M* the dick?!?! Only an asshole would see it that way.

I have no idea who you are, or how I somehow "blew you off", because by you posting here I can't look at the email trail to see what was said. But, if your attitude on Jemsite is any clue, maybe you were just an asshole I didn't want to deal with! Hmmmmm.

And lastly the thread Algiman linked to is your problem if you had actually READ it. It hasn't been resolved what the SOURCE of the problem is on Ralph's or a couple other guitars that have had the same effect, and there are SEVERAL threads already active on the topic if you took more than a minute to look. And probably not a problem that will ever be solved "online".

I didn't say you were "THE" dick, Just "a" dick. There is a difference. I'm quite aware that you aren't the person who deleted my post. You were, however, just as unhelpful and rude as nearly everyone else at Jemsite has been to me. You're also the only one who's reputation is staked on his internet conduct, so in the future, perhaps you should be a little more polite to your potential customers. Honestly, if you or anyone else had been a little tolerant of my mistake of posting a simple question in the wrong forum, or you had taken the 4 seconds it would've taken you to type out "It hasn't been resolved what the SOURCE of the problem is on Ralph's or a couple other guitars that have had the same effect" as you did in the comment you just made, we wouldn't be having this discussion now, as it was all I needed to know. As a retail manager of a multi-million dollar high grade electronics retailer, I KNOW what customer service is. I didn't receive it from you, sir. You can certainly insult me all you wish, but that doesn't change the truth of anything I have said in this exchange. It does speak volumes about the level of courtesy and professionalism that you, as a businessman and purveyor of fine guitars, exhibit. That said, I shouldn't have called you a "dick". I was very upset, as my dream instrument that I sunk $1200 into has issues, and no one, not even the amazing Rich, would help me. I overreacted, and I apologize. You can certainly message me on Jemsite for further correspondence. Sincerely, Ian

I was RUDE?! I basically just told you to check your attitude and you "might" get more helpful responses! [Like a newcomer in somebody else's house? Don't track mud on the carpet.] And for telling you that I'm a dick?! Fuck you and the horse you rode in on.

Customer service? Now maybe I have this totally backwards because I've never had a "job" in sales, or retail, never wanted to, and actually HATE anything that has to do with that part of this business, in fact I could give a shit if anybody buys here or not. I'm self employed, I have no boss, I make my own rules, an if I don't like you I will not deal with you, period. But Customer Service to me is for CUSTOMERS!!!! You know, the guys that actually BOUGHT their instruments here!!! And they know Customer Service that has no bounds. The slightest problem, fixed immediately, the dumbest questions, fully answered. You know what MY biggest problem is? The rest of the world thinking that it's MY JOB to fix all THEIR PROBLEMS!! You bought somewhere else, I have no obligation to you or your guitar. The dealer that made your money has the obligation. Where's HIS customer service?!?! But *I'M* the dick?!?! What a jackass.

You're a retail manager? So when your competitors customers write to you DAILY [the volume of which YOU CANNOT IMAGINE] asking you to fix the problems they're having with the product they bought from your competitor, you're going to spend all your time fixing their problems for them right? If you answered yes you're a lying sack of shit hypocrite. After the first month of it you'd be telling the rest to go jump off a fucking bridge. I solved everybody's problems for years until I had enough. 18 hours a day 364 days a year for 8 years without a vacation. Now, I'm decompressing. Their problems are THEIRS, and I could care less. I'm not making them mine any more. They/you all get this signature file -

Tech Support File - I must get 50 emails a day asking for help with problems relating to guitar setup and problems. Unless you are a customer and the guitar in question was purchased from Ibanez Rules [and please let me know the guitar, date purchased, and your name if it is] tech support is for customers only. I don't have the time or desire to spend my days sorting out the worlds problems, I have enough of my own to deal with. If you can't find your answer in the 10's of thousands of words I've typed in my Tech section then either consult a local tech or post your question in one of the many online guitar forums. I'd recommend Jemsite's forum for Ibanez related issues, but with anything, you get what you pay for. Free advice can solve your problems or be utterly worthless.

Don't like it? Don't care!! It's not my problem!! Remember, I'm a dick!

No, I cannot contact you through Jemsite [and not that I want to], my PM's are turned OFF to keep down the amount of help requests that, again, are just a time drain and have nothing to do with me. I post there when I have time, have something to say, or just plain feel like it. I still help allot of people there, but decompressing, not anything like I used to. Otherwise, right, NOT MY PROBLEM!! [and don't tell me you bought new for $1200. Right, $250 below dealer cost, sure you did. In a pigs eye. And *I* still have to buy from authorized dealers who take their profit, I eat shipping, add the stud mod, 5-6 hours of labor, supplies, and ship again, all for my profit margin]. Guess you got a bargain, you must be quite happy with your purchase!!

I thought this wasn't a discussion forum sir? I wrote a 3 page rant on the nature of my life and my business as it relates to yours and our current disccusion, but as I finished taking you apart I realized that you don't care about my life and my business anymore than I, or any other of your potential customers care about yours. This is pointless and stupid. My opinion is stated. Rest assured you are correct, I am not your customer. That said, delete the last 5 or so posts, as whether its me making you look like an ass, or you making yourself look like an ass, is irrelevant. It's bad business sir. Peace Ian.

No jackass, it's definitely you that has proven the ass you are. First I'm a dick because I very nicely advise you to check your attitude on the forum? Then I'm a dick cause I won't help you with your problem? Yea right, like I'm going to spend my time helping somebody that needs an attitude adjustment. It's your problem and the dealer's that sold it to you, and I'm not making it mine. I'm taking my newfound 2 hours a day of me time **for myself** and if you don't like it you can fuck off. If that's "bad business" I could care less, it's my business, not yours, and bottom line, it's the assholes like you that make me want OUT of this business.

Did you make sure to tell your originating dealer how much of a dick he was on his website? Why don't you go piss and moan at him for awhile.

Did you make sure to personally write each forum member that also replied and tell them they were dicks too? Or just me because I have a page you can try to publicly "grandstand" on and look the fool? You know this isn't a forum yet you continue to post here instead of writing privately don't you.

And ditto. I do NOT care about your life, your business, or you. So please, get off my site and do not return.

I don't edit this page, or did you not read that either?

Rich does all he can and more for his customers... and attacks to his person not even related to an instrument you bought are not going to help anyone... Seriously dude, writing "You're a dick, Rich." and then claiming your a Retail-Manager in whatever business doesn't add up...you sound more like a frustrated kid than anything else. Rich does its best to help everyone... but he is not Mother Theresa and, maybe this can come as a shock to you, also has a life of his own. You and no one owns him... Marc DL(Belgium)

Hey Marc, actually, I *used* to do my best Mother Theresa impersonation. No longer. I haven't had a life for 8 years as this business just sucks the life out of you, and of course everybody that wants something for nothing - teach me how to change strings, what's wrong with my guitar, what's this guitar I bought on ebay and what's it worth, what's wrong with my guitar, does my ass look fat in this dress, what's wrong with my guitar, etc. etc. etc....... The Dr. has been telling me for years to decompress, get rid of allot of stress, slow down and stop trying to work myself to death, I'm just getting to the point I'm so fed up with never having any personal time I'm taking his advice. Your problems are yours, don't make them mine. My time is now mine. Don't like it? Go moan and groan to somebody that cares because it's no longer me ;o}

Just bought a Mint '90 DY from Rich. My second guitar from Ibanez Rules!! (Check my May '04 feedback). Best service anywhere. I stalked Rich for over a month about this guitar and he answered every email, sent tons of pictures, talked to me on the phone, answered every question - just as he did with my DBK 1 year ago. Very professional, VERY trustworthy, makes buying a guitar fun. Before he shipped the guitar he found a flaw he hadn't noticed. He emailed me immediately with pictures and a clear description. He even worked on and fixed the flaw! Rich is very honest. Guitar was set up perfectly and was super clean. I WILL buy another guitar from Rich. Bill from Indiana April '05
