Any dealer can sell you a “guitar”, I deliver “instruments"
There are many online 'Warehouse' dealers and price matching "Mom and Pop's" out there, but I firmly believe none of them can compete in any way or on any level with Ibanez Rules. I can meet or beat any authorized dealer’s price and still deliver an instrument, or I can deliver the finest instrument possible, with several options available in between. Every guitar I ship has been meticulously inspected, prepared to the Service Level of your choice and budget, and has been tested to ensure that you receive a superb playing problem free machine. Guitar preparation aside, no dealer can compete with after sale support, including online or phone Tech Support, and Ibanez Rules Warranty Service on every guitar sold that even Ibanez can’t compete with. I currently inventory over 700 SKU's in factory Ibanez Parts, a parts program that was started 15 years ago to be able to service my customers warranty needs quickly and efficiently.
Previously I offered only one Service Level which I termed “Pro Setup”. I coined the term to mean that the instrument was prepared to the level of perfection to meet the requirements of the most demanding “Professional” player. Over the last few years I’ve seen this term thrown around so loosely that it has lost any of the original meaning intended, and now it’s accepted as any setup that has been paid for, no matter what the proficiency of the “Pro” doing the work. Now that I am an Authorized Ibanez Dealer I can offer multiple Service Levels to fit your expectations and budgets, from the casual weekend warrior to the most demanding touring professional. months on any Silver or higher Service Level. This is unheard of in an
industry where the typical order is filled by warehouse personnel that never
even look at your guitar!

With the warehouses virtually inventing holidays to advertise their sales, it would be my pleasure to accept any and all of their coupons, or any coupons or sales from any other retailers. Coupons are always based and deducted from Manufacturers Minimum Advertised Price [MAP] and are for like service. But always remember that while NObody in these warehouses has actually ever touched your guitar, every guitar I ship has been thoroughly inspected upon arrival and is guaranteed to arrive at your door ready to play out of the box, something no warehouse will ever guarantee you.
Unfortunately I cannot match these idiotic 20% coupons when warehouses want to clear space and give inventory away, leaving a 5% margin where 3-4% is eaten by payment processing fees and free shipping leaves nothing for profit and a probable loss. 15% coupons are the limit.

CITES Delays - Why hasn't my guitar come in?
The ban on 250 species of rosewood 1/2/17 has caused widespread mayhem in supply chain logistics. Reverb has a good generalize article of the why's, if you're not familiar, here. Now, even though this applies to rosewood [and bubinga also], guitars that have no banned woods are still in the same boat [pun] as the banned guitars. They're in the same container. [They might get wise and go to 2 20' containers, one full of non banned no permits required guitars, but if the beancounters get to vote, don't bet on it]
If it wasn’t in stock at HUSA before the rosewood ban went into effect 1/2/17, the only Japanese container came in early May. There is another currently stuck in customs as of today 5/17, they don’t know why it’s stuck in customs. There is currently no other MIJ container on the water, so they are at least 3 months behind on permits. They must have their permits cleared before they can put the container on the ship, and then once booked it has 2 weeks on the water. But - the 3rd world product flood gates have opened and they received 10 containers of MIC and MII last week, and have another 10 containers this week. They are not equipped to handle volume like that so HUSA is running far beyond ability. So now that they're sending out guitars, every dealer will be the choke point when they dump 4 months worth of inventory in our laps basically all at once. And at this time I still have 2 weeks work in the tech line and around 65 sold guitars waiting to come in.
There is no point asking for an ETA, because there are just too many variables that are complete unknowns right now. And they have no idea when Fish and Wildlife will streamline the permitting process so clearance doesn’t take 3 months, basically, nobody knows anything, except, to obey. If a non permitted container shows up in the US it will immediately be confiscated and the entire contents destroyed. They're not going to "sort thru" legal product and let you take it, you have illegally imported banned substances and under Federal Laws you are just fucked. Entire contents will be destroyed. This is a serious issue for everybody in this current global trade climate.
You personally are just as responsible if you export a used [or new] guitar without a permit, and if the importing Customs catches it, it will be confiscated and destroyed. It will not be returned to you, do not pass Go, do not collect $200. You have illegally exported banned material, you have to have it permitted to prove that it was legally obtained wood or predates the ban, but it has to have the permit to be legal. Once it is permitted, that permit will always stay with the guitar as it's "COA" and it will never have to be permitted again.
Permits in the US are [I believe] free for person to person shipping. [I am not sure this includes P2P sales. Sales make it merchandise and merchandise is a different application. The one I have to use.]. Permit fee paid to Fish and Wildlife is $75 for Used and $100 for New if it is Merchandise. The application form is 9 pages and typically government, so very confusing. It's intentional. I am still flying blind as I have not had the time to dive into this for a couple days and find out everything I need to know to start shipping the several sold guitars I have sitting here, waiting for me to get permits for [Sorry guys!]
