GB30TH - Legendary jazz great George Benson has been playing Ibanez signature guitars for 40 years, and to celebrate the collaboration Ibanez has released the GB40th. Besides the Les aul this may be the longest continual endorser to any manufacturer.

Appreciated as both a musician and performer by millions, George Benson has always had the dual role of expert improviser and vibrant entertainer. He has consistently placed his keenly discerning art in the service of a rousing good time. Rounding out his singular approach with sly, seductive rhythm and blues, he's earned himself an impeccable reputation as one of music's most enterprising and engaging stars.

Ibanez first introduced the legendary George Benson Signature Guitar in 1977. Since then, Bensonís signature models have been loved by many and considered the pinnacle of performance for many years. Now, Ibanez proudly celebrates the 40th anniversary of this signature guitar with the release of a Japan-made limited model, GB40TH.

The GB40TH features a Flamed Maple top, back and sides, containing a maturity and performance that have been highly approved by Benson himself, and the sound is rich and mild, yet firm. The smooth 3-piece maple neck with beautiful bound Ebony fretboard features an amazing response with smooth sustain.  Also Prestige fret edge treatment provides extra-smooth playing. The Nonslip Sure Grip III knobs support accurate volume and tone control and offer a classic look.
GB special pickups are installed and float off the body, eliminating feedback and enabling a superbly warm jazz sound. The specially designed 40th anniversary inlay on the headstock, fretboard, and bridge/tailpiece also grace the anniversary of his long-running signature guitar legacy. A hardshell case included.
