GUITARS IN STOCK IDENTIFIED BY SERIAL NUMBER - SPECS AND DETAILS BELOW
EDIT - The intonation issue with the JEM7's were due to the pickups, explained below, but this will be left up for posterity as it has been discussed much
JEM7VWHL's were produced at a time when the JEM7V's were transitioning from guitars that would barely intonate [second version guitars - the first version of this problem, the guitars would not intonate on the low E string and had horrible conflicting overtones] to guitars that were normal. There was no rhyme to the serial umber as the issue was in the body, and as the necks didn't seem to be pulled in any order, or the bodies were still hit and miss, there is no way to identify the good guitars except to do a full setup with strobe intonation set to physically check that the guitars are normal.
ALL OF THE GUITARS BELOW HAVE BEEN SETUP AND STROBE INTONATED WITH PICTURES OF THE SADDLE ALIGNMENT TO SHOW THE NORMAL INTONATION PATTERN. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT PURCHASE ANY VWHL WITHOUT KNOWING THE GUITAR HAS BEEN STROBE INTONATED COMPARATIVE 5 AND 17TH FRET, WITH PROOF THAT THE INTONATION PATTERN IS NORMAL. OTHERWISE YOU ARE VERY LIKELY TO GET A BAD GUITAR. THE LAST PICTURE IN THE PHOTO BANKS WILL BE THE PICTURE OF THE SADDLE ALIGNMENT OF THAT PARTICULAR GUITAR. TO REPEAT, ALL OF THESE VWHL'S ARE GOOD GUITARS WITH NORMAL INTONATION AND NORMAL OVERTONES ON THE WOUND STRINGS IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE SCALE. EXAMPLES OF BOTH SHOWN AFTER THE GUITARS.
After dealing with the issue on the JEM777's it was discovered by the master tech at HUSA that the pickups were the cause. 2 guitars setup the exact same way would give vastly different results, some you could setup how I would always setup a JEM, the rest the bridge pickup needs to be lowered almost to the pickguard to get correct intonation.
