JEM20th's are made up of 3 layers, each layer containing it's own "swirl" "ribbons". Some areas of each layer may be quite full or quite empty. and there are areas where all 3 layers will be empty creating holes in the graphic where it's just clear, and creating holes at different angles as it is 3 dimensional. It's difficult to just show the patterns alone which is why they're shot on the black background.
