NAMM 2002' It's very strange to be typing this report sitting in the Ibanez Booth on the floor of the Anaheim Convention Center. Strange and very cool!! As always the Ibanez Booth is not only large but impressive, they definately go above and beyond when it comes to presentation! This year is the 30th Anniversary of Hoshino USA so be sure to look through the 30th Anniversary picture tour. I will complete the model specs that are missing when I have more time, the only specs missing are on models that were also available last year. This year there's LOTS of good stuff to show, just as we expected. So on to the show! Signature models first. SIGNATURE PRESTIGE DOUBLE EDGE 30TH ANNIVERSARY PHOTO TOUR BOOTH TOUR JEM7VSBL - As expected the new VSBL was debuted. To those neigh sayers, you'll just have to see this in person! This JEM looks great!, and the Vintage Silver hardware adds just the right touch! The color is a pearl blue with an overshot of sparce sparkle flake. The fretboard is rosewood as was reported in the specs given by the UK distributor a month ago, shown here again following the pics. Esentially a 7VWH in Blue with rosewood board, all other specs 7VWH. List price $2499.99 For whatever reason including flash/show lighting/camera, the color is WAY off. The tip of the headstock is the closest but it's still a little darker in person.
NECK - MAPLE 1 PC The UV777, DBK, and 7VWH all return without change. UV777BK - List Price $2099.99 JEM7VWH - List price $2399.99 JEM7DBK - List price $1599.99 JS2000CG - Also expected was the new JS in Champagne Gold with the Fixed Edge Bridge (although it resembles a fixed Lo Pro visually), this is a fixed bridge, no whammy at all. Joe was pictured on the cover of Young Guitar with his a few months ago, but his is white (not like he won't get a GC too!). The most commonly asked for mod from the Custom Shop for endorcees has made it to production. Fixed bridge with fine tuners and a locking nut. Stunning Champagne color I'm sure my Olympus camera is not doing justice! Chrome hardware and JS1000 spec in every way except the fixed trem. List price $1499.99
JS1000 - The 1000 is unchanged from last year in color or spec. List price $1499.99
JS100 - The 100 survives the cut for another year unchanged. List price $899.99 PG - The rumored return of the PGM300 was just that, the 30 is still the only current PGM for the US market and remains unchanged. Paul is shown in the catalog with his new PGM10th that so many would kill for just the oportunity to buy. List price $799.99 (For the 30 of course!!:)
KORN - The K7's return unchanged. List price $1799. There has been an addition of the K5 bass to the lineup. Very much a Soundgear 5 string with ADX5N and ADX5B pickups, front mounted jack and K5 inlay ala the K7's. List price $999.99
